Loyal customer of Walgreens

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Yesterday was the first major snow shower in our city, most of my neighbors were outside all busy plowing the snow. There's one senior lady that I spoke with and our topic was her complain about Express Scripts decision that Walgreens is no longer a participating provider of their pharmacy network. We came on this topic because she learned that I took a pharmacy technician course and she's hoping that I could give her some explanations about Walgreens and Express Scripts issue. She told me that why Express Scripts would dictate her and say that it's easy to change pharmacies and that she can move her prescriptions to another immediately. She and her family were loyal customers of Walgreens for many years because its location is very convenient and usually open 24 hours. She loves the people in the pharmacy because she feels genuinely taken care of with regards to her needs. She said those people who works in Walgreens pharmacy are like her extended family, they know her medical history and always make her feel better whenever she goes there. Furthermore, she added the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens  is also a reason why she likes Walgreens because some of her family and friends who have insufficient drug coverage have discounts on their medications on some brand names and all generic ones. They could avail discount on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies and many more benefits. Honestly, I don't know the issue until I heard from my neighbor her complain. There is more than cost as reason why a person would be a loyal customer. I, for one would consider convenience, customer service/care and personal relationship with the people in the pharmacy who know my medical/prescription history more than the cost. I feel my neighbor's concern and transition is not as easy as steps 1-2-3 and it somehow offended her because she's being dictated to transfer her prescriptions to another against her will. Well, business is business, they are all after their business interests/profit regardless of people disapproval. My neighbor as a loyal customer of Walgreens encourage me to follow Walgreens on Twitter and Walgreens on Facebook. She's such a nice person and I like her for being vocal on her stand with issue like this.
