While waiting for my turn in a dental office, my attention was caught by this boy who kept on biting his nails while his mom is reading magazine. It's a non-stop biting, from left hand to right hand and repeatedly. It's like his having his own manicure, his biting the edges and spitting them out. Kinda gross but why people bite their nails and most often they're the younger ones. I could think maybe he's bored and forgot his game gadget so he played with his nails, lol! Seriously, it might be due to boredom, stress or feeling nervous. I read that males are more into this habit of biting their nails than female. Whatever their reason, it's a bad habit that needs to be overcome. It's against public etiquette, good manners and hygiene. Our hands are the dirtiest part of our body and when you put it into your mouth, you're taking risk of catching any infection or illness. So, if we noticed that it's starting to be a habit of our children, we need to step-in so as early as possible they could overcome that unhealthy and bad habit.
