Homebased relaxation

I first encountered the word "meditate" when I was in highschool. It was a catholic school where we have Christian Living as a regular subject. We used to have retreats and lots of meditations. I remember what my teacher told us about meditation, it's a practice of focusing the mind. They let us think of good and happy things that happened to us and just being still and calm. I recall that it gave me a great feeling. Nowadays I feel some stress, things bother me for no reason at all. I told myself I needed time to meditate/relax and staying home would not allow me to have it because the sorroundings of the house would always remind me of chores and things to do which will make me more stressful. I'm a stay at home mom and not working doesn't mean I have less stress or no reason to get stress because I have the luxury of spending my time whenever I want to. But, it doesn't work that way, people get stress or have greater amount of it wherever situation they're into. Anyway, since I can't go anywhere, I tried to relax  in a place where there's no distraction and free of noise. I need to focus my mind on something relaxing and calming. I brought some scented/calming candles, nice music with me. Guess where I decided to relax? In the bathroom! I soaked myself in the tub with warm water, sorrounded with the scented candles and nice music. I focus my mind on positive things, I imagine myself travelling in different countries enjoying great scenery. I also thought of how blessed I am though sometimes it's hard to realize especially when you expect too much from yourself. It turned out pretty well, I encourage you to do it at the comfort of your home.
